DLV (national) und IAU (international)

German Athletics Association (DLV)

The German Athletics Association (DLV) is the governing body for the sport of athletics in Germany with just under 800.000 members in app. 7.600 clubs. Within World Athletics (WA), DLV is the federation with the most members world wide.
Next to the olympic disciplines DLV represents the nonolympic sports in the Masters, Mountain- and Trail Running as well as Ultramarathon, in which European and World Championships are held and German athletes take part wearing the DLV national cap.

International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU)

The International Association of Ultrarunners (IAU) is operating under the patronage of World Athletics and is dedicated to develop ultradistance running internationally within the World Athletics Rules & Regulations. As international governing body for ultradistance running, one of the main objectives is to promote and develop long distance running worldwide
by encouraging specific activities in each of the World
Athletics Continental Areas. The 100 km is the “flagship” of the IAU competitions and the IAU also ratifies 100 km world records.
